Welcome to the Emmet County Democratic Party

As Democrats, we believe that first and foremost, the government has a responsibility to play a positive role in providing for the common good of all in our society.

DEM FEST - A HUGE SUCCESS!

On Thursday, October 23, 200 attendees took part in our first Fall Dem Fest, hosted by Walloon Lake Winery. We enjoyed chili and cookies, along with cider and wine.

We heard from several of our local Democratic elected officials. We also recounted dozens of activities in which Emmet Dems have taken part over the past year: meeting state and federal candidates, postcard writing, and social events. We regularly participated in rallies in Petoskey, including the No Kings 2.0 which galvanized 7 million people nationally!

Our generous attendees and supporters donated $20,000. That will be used to keep our operation humming, expand our communications, and (critically!) recruit and support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.

MIvoter.org is the Michigan Democratic voter’s “one-stop shop” and includes:

  1. Information about the on-going state shut-down drama, as it happens.

  2. Reviews of the 2026 ballot proposal petitions that are now circulating - and two of them are evil.

  3. Lists of all the protests happening across the state, by county.

  4. Details on the hurt that Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” will cause Michiganders.

  5. Contact information for all of each voter’s specific elected officials.

  6. Links on how to contact you - the parties and clubs that are the backbone of the Democratic efforts in the state.

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement

The State of Michigan occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinaabek - Three Fires Confederacy, the Odawa (Ottawa), Ojibwa (Chippewa), and Bode’wadmi (Potawatomi). The Michigan Democratic Party recognizes historic Indigenous communities in Michigan, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands.  We further recognize the ongoing relationship of dependence upon, and respect for, all living beings of earth, sky and water.  In offering this land acknowledgement we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
