Sheriff Chris Swanson, Democrat running for Governor of Michigan, will be in Petoskey for a Town Hall at the Carnegie Building, 451 E. Mitchell St. on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 12:30pm. Doors will open at noon. Coffee and cookies will be served.

From the campaign: Sheriff Swanson is nationally known for his inmate education reform, enabling inmates to attain their GED or higher degree while incarcerated; this program has been adopted in twenty-one states.  Sheriff Swanson is also known for his involvement with the local community, during the Flint water crisis and after the death of George Floyd.  Sheriff Swanson was asked to speak at the National Democratic Convention in 2024 and delivered a most inspiring speech!
